Self-Learning Modules

Online Self-Learning Modules

Teams have access to online Self-Learning Modules on building science, energy efficiency, water sufficiency, cost estimation, and resilience. Completing the modules according to the schedule, will help participants to make best use of the learning, and apply it in their design projects.

Access the Self-Learning Modules here.

Building Simulation Software

Simulation Software

Each team member is given licenses to building performance simulation software- Design Builder and Climate Studio. Teams can use the software to evaluate their ideas and optimize their design solutions.

Pitch guidance to Project Partners

Pitch guidance to Project Partners

The Solar Decathlon India organisers have prepared a guidance document for participants, that they can use when they interact with Project Partners. They can use it to explain the benefits that Project Partners get by participating, and clarify their role and commitment in the Challenge.

Read the Competition Guide for guidance on pitching to Project Partners.

Expert Webinars

Expert Webinars

Solar Decathlon India conducts a series of webinars, mirroring the topics of the Self-Learning Modules. In the webinars, expert practitioners use case studies from their own professional experiences and discuss best practices. Webinars on soft skill topics such as movie making, report writing, and communication are also conducted. Teams can attend the live webinars, ask questions and go deep into the subjects with the industry experts.

Technical Resource Group

Technical Resource Group

Student teams have access to the Technical Resource Group (TRG) throughout the challenge. The TRG comprises individuals with expertise in specific areas in making buildings and communities that are net-zero-energy-water-waste, resilient, and affordable. They have participated in Solar Decathlon challenges in the past, and bring that valuable experience for mentoring teams in Solar Decathlon India. The TRG members provide high-level guidance, point out resources, and provide explanations to the teams. However, they do not solve problems for the teams.
