Finalists of 2020-21 Challenge
The 2020-21 Finalists presented their state-of-the-art net-zero and climate-resilient designs and impressed the Division Jury panels at the Design Challenge Finals.
The teams presented their whole building solutions along with innovations such as rice-husk ash insulation, fibre-optic daylighting lamps, kinetic façades, rain-catcher canopies, cooling-as-a-service, use of bamboo and shipping containers, and a variety of apps. Their use of local resources, frugal engineering and iterative development of design impressed the jury. Teams effectively used passive and active strategies to meet the cooling demand and demonstrate adaptability, paying attention to building operation and maintenance. Watch their presentations here.
